Marex Hedging Solutions specifically helps corporates hedge their risk to volatility of commodity and currency prices through tailor-made bespoke hedging solutions. This role will require the employee to perform a Sales function within the Hedging Solutions department with a particular focus on German clients with Dairy hedging requirements.

Role Summary

An ambitious, and proactive individual, part of the Commodities Sales Team in Paris with a focus on Dairy clients in Germany as well as the broader EMEA region. The position will require the ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team and will involve engaging directly with clients. Commercial ability to maintain good relationship with clients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality sales coverage across the EMEA region for clients of Marex Solutions, dealing in commodity products, in particular Dairy derivatives.
  • Create value and capture revenues from existing client base contributing to the growth of the EMEA Commodities business.
  • Work closely with Trading, and other divisions of the firm in driving synergies and potential new business opportunities.
  • Liaise with Internal Stakeholders across the business (Credit / Compliance / Legal / Onboarding / Ops / Trading / Risk) to ensure compliance with the company’s policies and procedures with regards to day-to-day business activity and client communication.
  • The individual will be directly corresponding with clients – which typically includes corporates, banks, trading houses, and some institutional clients.
  • Supporting senior team members with coverage of existing clients, onboarding of new clients, and business development workflows such as assisting with the setting up of new products.
  • Responsible for assisting with the onboarding of any new client relationships and maintaining of existing client relationships, assisting with support processes as required by colleagues, and engaging and updating clients.
  • Working efficiently and supporting with making efficiencies e.g. assisting in the preparation of any new required frameworks.
  • Collaboration with central operations functions which support the trading role including but not limited to Operations and Technology.
  • Strategizing to increase P&L, requiring analysis of markets and products.
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s regulatory requirements at all times whilst carrying out regulatory activities complying with the FCA’s Code of Conduct and AML guidelines.
  • Adhere to the operational risk framework for your role ensuring that all regulatory or company determined parameters are complied with.
  • Role model for demonstrating highest level standards of integrity and conduct and reflecting Company Values.
  • To ensure that you are fully aware of and adhere to internal policies that relate to you, your role or any other activities for which you have any level of responsibility.
  • To report any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as required.

Skills and Experience

  • Language skills: Native German (required) and proficiency of other European languages desirable,
  • Good understanding of global commodity markets
  • Good knowledge of financial derivatives and how these can be used/structured to help clients to manage their underlying commodity price risks.
  • Previous experience in Dairy markets (physical or financial) preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills
