Role Summary


As a Graduate Trainee in Business Management, you will gain exposure to a wide range of projects and activities that support the rapid growth of our business. You will be part of delivering new business initiatives in our COO team and drive growth through assisting in strategic projects. Working alongside product and subject matter experts across the business you will develop your business and product knowledge, and key skills for your future career with Marex.

You will also be part of the broader Marex Graduate Programme, where you will have the opportunity to expand your business knowledge, network and connect with other Graduates from across the Marex business.


Overall Responsibilities


As a Graduate Trainee in Business Management, you will start by learning the fundamentals on the job and build your experience over time so that you can take on the following responsibilities:

Our COO / Business Management team play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of new business initiatives for the Capital Markets business. This role relies on building and leveraging relationships across multiple departments to deliver projects and activities that support business growth and optimisation.

Within this role you will:

  • Assist senior members of the team to deliver new business initiatives which will include generating ideas on how to improve the management of new business initiatives, establishing project plans and gathering input from departments across the business.
  • Creating, reviewing and improving existing MI (Management Information) and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to effectively monitor and steer the business
  • Take responsibility for organising and preparing for various Management meetings and Committees, including drafting materials for discussions.
  • Optimise business performance through analysing costs and budgets to identify opportunities for cost rationalisation
  • Driving change for the Capital Markets team by establishing new processes, reviewing existing ones and identifying enhancements
  • Supporting the assessment of existing platforms and delivering the IT strategy for the Marex Solutions or Capital Markets team.
  • Supporting regulatory initiatives/projects with the subject matter experts together with Legal and Compliance
  • Report regularly on and assess performance to track ROI, competitor analysis
  • Optimise, automate, raise efficiency where possible to increase productivity
  • Work with our Client services team to assist with the onboarding of any new client relationships and maintaining of existing client relationships, assisting with support processes as required by colleagues, and engaging and updating clients.
  • Perform analysis of markets and products to inform strategic discussions on how to increase P&L

  • Reporting any breaches of policy to Compliance and/ or your supervisor as require
  • Escalating risk events immediately
  • Providing input to risk management processes, as required.

Skills and Experience

  • A 2:1 degree or equivalent, coupled with a strong academic track record*.
  • Problem solving skills.
  • Very Strong Excel, VBA or Phython skills as well as MS Office skills.
  • A meticulous eye for detail.
  • The ability to work effectively under pressure in a busy environment.
