Description of Department

Marex Solutions is division of Marex providing investment banking solutions with a fintech mindset. We aim to become the world’s leading manufacturer of cross asset, customised derivatives.

Role Summary

Supporting the COO to drive improvement within existing processes and documentation, you will play a key role in building the operational infrastructure to support the rapid growth of this business.

You will be the key lead within the COO team to own and progress any technology related projects. You will act as the center of competence when it comes to the Solutions IT infrastructure and ensure that any new development considers scale and sustainability of the business. You will be liaising with the Head of Solutions Technology to ensure any new projects and initiatives are transparently communicated and aligned to the overall technology strategy.

You will report to the COO of Solutions and Capital markets and therefore own the delivery of the current platform transformation project for Solutions and act as key liaison between the Business, Support and Control and the IT department.

Working for the Solutions COO in delivering Projects, enabling the business to keep growing sustainably and integrating expansion opportunities when they arise.

You will be exposed to a wide range of tasks and projects, among others:

  • Delivering new business initiatives for the business following and improving the groups change process which have an technology focus
  • Looking at the automation of existing MI and KPIs to effectively monitor and steer the business
  • Looking at ways to enhance profitability through automation and technology, reviewing the current tech spending of the team and negotiating contracts to driving cost savings
  • Driving change for the Marex Solutions team by reviewing existing process and identifying enhancements via automation and use of technology
  • Supporting the Delivery of key new inhouse build technology platforms as well as the roll out of third party systems.
  • You are an entrepreneurial individual with strong front to back understanding of structured products. Used to optimise and drive automation.
  • You think outside of the box and always try to have a solution for any problem you encounter


Skills and Experience

A successful candidate will have:

  • Min 5 years’ experience in either manufacturing Structured OTC derivatives or in Structured securities
  • Strong experience in regards to technology and trading systems implementation. Previous experience in handling System migrations and building front to back System infrastructure
  • In depth understanding about the front to back processing of these products
  • Has strong stakeholder management skills and able to handle exposure to senior management
  • Self-motivated, confident, and resilient - able to strive within a profitability driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong Microsoft office skills, especially excel
  • Entrepreneurial and leadership skills will be highly considered.
  • Very good Interpersonal skills
  • University degree
